This scholarship is amazing: it pays a full-tuition to some of the most elite schools in the country, including Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. However, you have to qualify for it financially. On average, the award winners have a family income of $60,000 or less. A few students have become semi-finalists in this scholarship contest, and I have mixed feelings about it. BUT! This program also has some pretty amazing summer opportunities for students just like you. If you are considering an Ivy League-ish university or college, this might be something you'd like to check out.

One of my favorite southern artists is George Rodrigue. If you've heard of "Blue Dog Democrats," thank Rodrigue's pop art icon, the Blue Dog. If you are an artist--and I know quite a few of you are--check out his scholarship opportunity through his Foundation of the Arts. I don't know any of the details, but it never hurts to explore options!
